Sweet little gem
4 out of 5 stars.
This film is too cute! I was skeptical at first, but it really is a rare gem. Although the story is quite generetic, the actors are so heartfelt and charmning that you get sucked right into it. You're really cheering for the main character even though he screws up the same way a million gay confused teenagers have before him. If you add the charming sountrack, the beautiful surroundings and the cute guys, you have a winner!

A Surprisingly Good Movie
5 out of 5 stars.
Wow....I really wasn't expecting much but I noticed that this movie was consistently getting 4 and 5 star ratings so I was curious to see what all the fuss was about...and I wasn't disappointed! Trevor Wright plays the lead character Zach who is a tormented 22 year old with a lot on his plate....he has a sister who is an alcoholic and uses Zach for babysitting and a father figure for her son....he has a friend Gabe who is his best friend, a surfer dude, who has moved on to college and comes from a privileged family and has his life pretty well mapped out for him....he has a girlfriend who is on-again-off-again who is there for appearances, but she knows something is not what it seems with Zach....he has applied to art school as he is an aspiring artist, but has turned down a scholarship the previous year because of his commitment to his family. Then he meets the other lead, Sean (Brad Rowe), who is Gabe's brother. Sean has come back to Laguna/San Pedro to pick up the pieces after a failed gay relationship in LA. Sean becomes a mentor to Zach, as a surfer, and they begin to uncover a deeper relationship. This does not come easy with all that is going on in Zach's life and the script weaves all the issues Zach is dealing with in a very thoughtful and heartfelt way. The script is tasteful and well done, and handles all the issues that Zach is dealing with truthfully and head on. Its humourous, touching, and there are times when it feels undeniably real. The scene where Zach is driving himself home after Sean & Zach's first evening together is recognizable to most gay men, as we have had that feeling-- that amazing feeling--that something special is happening. This movie has heart, good acting, a good script, and an entertaining "behind the scenes" featurette. I also ended up buying the soundtrack off ITunes. I would highly recommend this film....I've watched it over and over again since I first bought it 2 months ago....it was SO enjoyable! :) Jason Sloane....see my listomania "GayGreatest25"

Wonderfully Done
4 out of 5 stars.
Wonderful cinematography, good cast, strong acting, good story line, and not your typical "seen it before" flick. I particularly liked the 'brother' - an attitude much more prevalent in this day and age, than in times past. An updated story. Recommended :)
