"The Mail on Sunday" will be a Big Fat Royalty Cheque!
5 out of 5 stars.
This is the first album from Tramar Dillard (now we understand why the name change) and for a debut effort it's pretty darn hot. One could say Flo Rida started off "Low", took an "Elevator" ride to the top and can now put his hands up high "In the Ayer", or maybe one shouldn't. All bad puns aside, there's nothing funny on this album, it's serious-serious fun that is. The first single, "Low", got a huge bump up thanks to the movie "Step Up 2 The Streets" and eventually hit the number one spot on the charts. There's no mistaking the ever-present Timbaland's influence on the second single, "Elevator". Heck, Timbaland could sneeze on a napkin and it would sell a million copies! Flo Rida sure knows where to go for the Midas touch. Which brings us to the latest release, "In the Ayer" and it's without a doubt the hottest, and catchiest song on the whole disc. Having the Black Eyed Pea Will.I.Am duet on the song doesn't hurt either. Love it or hate it, you're gonna hear this song everywhere, and for some that whole play on misspelling and mispronouncing words may be too much, but for the Pop/Hip Hop fan it's what makes the song so damn catchy.
As for the remaining cuts, there's more really good stuff; "Ms. Hangover" has a super-slick groove to it; Sean Kingston must be trying to out-do Akon for guest appearances as his duet on "Roll" is great. Keeping it real, hard core Hip-Hoppers should really like "Don't Know How To Act" and "Priceless". Both tracks are heavy duty. Flo Rida has given us three of the hottest club-bangers to come out in the past year, and all on his first CD. This one is super hot and heavy.
