| Great Concept, Well Executed | |
| | This game does a great job of adding a system to Bejewelled, adding equipment, classes, skill ranks, all of which change the way the game game plays, allowing for some really interesting mechanics to be explored. There are lots of really interesting ideas executed here, most of them done extremely well.
However, the game shows where priority wasn't placed; The plot and characters are cliché and rather vanilla, dialogue is on the clunky side, while the plot itself isn't really anything new or exciting. The sound effects are okay, but the music ended up driving me mad after a while.
Still, though, you can't ask for everything, and other than the above noted items, I really have nothing to complain about. The point of the game is the superbly executed mechanics, after all!
| | | At first I thought this game was really hard, but once I got the hang of it I couldn't put it down. I finally finished it, and now I want to play another character because you get different spells depending on what kind of warrior you choose to be. It is amazing what they have done with a game that you just have to connect three or more (like Bejeweled).
| | Addictive for Bejeweled fans.. | |
| | This game has two main modes: story and one-on-one battle. In story mode, you start your game on a map. You can travel from city to city, opening up new paths as you go, completing main/side quests to advance the story. There may be monsters on these paths, and you have to defeat the monster to go to the next city. How do you fight monsters? by playing bejeweled, of course! :) (well, bejeweled "with a twist" is a bit more accurate). This was one of the first games I bought (recommended to me by my bf). It was the perfect game for me, since I really enjoyed the story aspect, but could avoid the actual sword fighting that I hate from RPGs.
Warning: some people I've talked to have gotten bored at once with the game. This is because at first, it seems like the odds of winning are too low. However, if you up your stats wisely, you get a better chance of winning...
