| This is the second season of the excellent HGTV Holmes on Homes television series. Building on the successful format of the first season, this DVD set continues to demonstrate the straight-talking Canadian, Mike Holmes, helping real homeowners in need as he comes like a hero to rescue them from their nightmares. Unscrupulous new home builders and renovation contractors are no doubt concerned that this series has become available to a broader DVD viewing audience. (International readers please note that although amazon.ca lists both season one and two as Region 1, the sets I received were labeled Region ALL.) After viewing this informative series you will never look at a home project or problem the same way. The very reasonable purchase price of the DVDs will surely save you many times more in expenses, grief and marital stress. The video quality of this second season is improved over the first, and more money and expertise seem to have been invested behind the scenes. Once again all but one episode is presented in a compact 22 minute format. Special features continue to be sparse but do add valuable background information for homeowners. These sets make an excellent gift for any current or prospective homeowner and left both my wife and I wanting more.
