The best game for the best type of computer!
5 out of 5 stars.
This is an amazing game for any older kid, teen, or adult. The game play is simple to learn, however the game is much easier after you have played for awhile and become comfortable with the controls. If you are a fan of The Sims , you will be absolutely blown away by the better realism. The new Sims are smarter, and the amazing graphics make them look even more like real people. Also, your Sims now grow older and change. A female sim now has a gestation period before she has a baby. A Sim may be created at any life stage in create-a-Sim, and a baby born during the game will go from baby to toddler to child to teen to adult to elder. The sims also have genetics, and you can have generations and generations of a family if you work at it. A sim can also now get fat from eating too much, or super trim from working out for awhile. In create-a-sim, you can shape the face to perfect detail, apply makeup however you like, and even make alien sims! You can play your sims in one of three towns that come with the game, or make a town of your very own. The Sims now also have aspirations, which are goals you can fulfill to make your sim live a longer, happier life. This is a game that is extremely fun and addictive. If you're tired of those other, monotonous computer games that are all the same all the time, try the sims!

*If anyone says Macs can't run this game, they couldn't be more wrong. I have the PC version of this running on my iMac (on the windows side of the dual system), and it runs a thousand times better on the mac than it ever did on my PC. PC=Tonnes of freezing, really, really bad graphics, and so slow that it takes ten minutes for a sim to walk across a room. Mac= No freezing, amazing, realistic graphics, and smooth, normal movement of the sims and objects. Macs run the sims 2 the way it was intended to run: Amazingly.

**Also, this game may not be appropriate for younger children, because it contains some themes meant for older audiences. Also, the game play might be a little hard to understand for a younger child. Long story short, I agree with the rating (T for Teen)

A worthwhile purchase!

If you played The Sims, you'll LOVE The Sims 2. This game is great! I don't know why people think that you can't play games on a Mac...they run great. The graphics are an extraordinary improvement over the first, and the improved level of realism makes the game even more addicting than before. This has got to be the best game I've ever purchased for the Mac! We've had no problems running it on our 1.8GHz iMac G5. The only reason I would forsee a problem is if you bought the game when your computer didn't meet the system requirements, in which case who's fault is it? :) On the Aspyr website they have a 'Game Agent' that tells you whether or not it should run. If you like this type of game, GET IT!!

What a fun game!

This game a definite improvement over the first Sims. Better game play, more control over characters, better graphics. I think it does have fairly high requirements, but considering all the AI and 3D rendering, they aren't unreasonable. My wife and I really enjoy this game.

A great, addictive game!

This is a fantastic upgrade to an already brilliant game. The greater levels of social interaction and development, including pregnancy and aging, make this version even more fun and addictive than the original. It is well worth the price, as you'll probably spend many, many hours enjoying this game. What it might do to *your* social life is another question...

Don't throw your money away

I warn you, DO NOT buy this game. I have never in my life had so many problems with something. For over fifty dollars, your getting ripped off. For free, why not, but this game is not worth a cent! Remember, it was made for the PC, not the mac. Stay far, far away from any games when it comes to the mac!
