|  | I bought this set today and immediatly noticed a brighter sound. I still had my old versions still on my computer so I decided to listen to them, to see if it was just me not listening to them for a while. I played Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and it was flat and dull, very quiet. I played the BB version and it was louder, which meant less blown speakers, and cleaner. A chucked my old, unofficial CDs away. This set has great remasters. The packaging is nice too. The digipackaging is nice, duplicating the records. The box is black on black text so it is a little tough to read. The book is full of glory, with stories by from the guys (A lot of it is Tony). The photos are great, and in b&w too. The text is white on black, so it's easy to read (unlike the text in REUNION. Red on b&w) The pages have a background pattern of a variety of crosses. There are quotes by Zakk Wylde, Michael Bordin (Ozzy solo members) and other artists, which explain how Sabbath influenced them. The DVD is cool, but I would prefer a version of the Paris 1070 bootleg instead (It's still nice)

| | what can you say.what a box set! i was excited to go buy this set of classic albums.i always wanted to buy all the Sabbath albums,and so this was a easy way of getting them all.the sound is awesome!Geezer's bass just pumps through my stereo,Bill's drums just thump.Tony's guitar gives me goosebumps and Ozzy's vocals are crystal clear.that part i loved,but i didnt like the packaging of no jewel cases.and the cds are hard to pull out of the center ring.the book is cool with all the lyrics to the songs.the dvd could been longer with bonus footage or something. but over all it was a good buy.my favorite album is Sabotage,love the songs on it.plus Ozzy's vocals sound really cool on it.my favorite tracks of Sabbath are Junior's Eyes,The Writ,Hole In The Sky,Iron Man,Sabbra Cadabra,Black Sabbath, and Supernaut.so anybody wanting to get Sabbath albums just go and get them all right here.its worth it because of the great sound. P.S.,Black Sabbath with Ozzy is the ONLY SABBATH! PEACE!

| | Well, here it is! The first eight Black Sabbath releases in a boxed set. Back in the eighties I bought the Black Sabbath albums on CD as soon as they were released in that format and I always felt they sounded pretty much like cassette tapes transfered to a CD. Now these albums (the entire catalog featuring Ozzy Osbourne) has been remastered and they sound great. Now, keep in mind these albums were recorded using primitive equipment even for that time so they do sound rough. I've read some complaints here that the albums sound horrible. They don't. They are just not super polished which Sabbath records were never meant to be. As for the music itself, the first six records, Black Sabbath (which features a lost song, Evil Woman), Paranoid, Master or Reality, Volume 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and Sabotage are all flawless albums. Not a bad song to be found on them. Technical Ecstasy has some good songs including Dirty Women, Gypsy, and It's Alright (with vocals by Bill Ward) but also has some clunkers such as Rock and Roll Doctor and All Moving Parts (Stand Still). Finally the Never Say Day album pretty much stinks. Still, for the price you are getting your money's worth. The DVD on here is also pretty good. The other nice thing about this release is, unlike the previous CD releases, the original album artwork has been restored on all eight releases. Now when are they going to remaster Heaven and Hell and The Mob Rules?

| | | My friend bought this and has shown me the results. I think it is just another way of sucking more money from commited Sabbath fans who will buy anything. There are some rare photos, including pictures of another band altogether! If you are a audiophile with good sound equipment you might be able to hear something new, but if like me you haven't, then you won't be able to tell any difference between this and the other 'remastered' disks available. The package is cheap, the digi pack release a while back are a much better package. A sabbath tour is imminent and the objective here is clear. The book on it's own would be worth £10 - $15. If you han't got the 'Ozzy' era Sabbath, this is a good start, other than that it's a rip-off (IMHO).
