| | We love these dvds, and watch them over and over again. We like the fact that they are clean, entertaining, and have good life lessons. The quality is actually pretty good for the time they were produced. All in all, these are excellent movies!
| | | The ordinary person might think this is too lofty a title but let me explain my reason for naming it a Masterpiece. Of all the TV Productions of today on the market (Series included) there has not been one that has captivated so many people. There is one that comes second but you will have to guess its name. The stories that tell an event in the lives of the Ingalls Family and their friends and indeed all of Walnut Grove plus visitors to the town are so real that you almost feel that you are there. The Cast, Producers and everyone who were involved (Sadly some have passed away) must have been proud of what they had accomplished. I feel the same.
| | Lets Clear up the editing thing | |
| | I received Season 3 for Christmas, and I could not be happier with the quality of the DVD's in gereral. I'm not sure what all the complaining about the editing is about. If you all remeber, these shows were filmed in the 70's and for what the editors had to work with, I think they have done an excellent job in editing. I beleive that people have lost sight of the fact that the show was generally pretty badly done in the first place. For instance, have you ever noticed that the banisters move on the church stairs, or that actors re-appear in later episodes as different characters? My point is that the kitchy charm of the show is what makes it so indearing to all of us who lived vicariously through Laura Ingalls. Lets lay off the editors and remeber what we love about the shows. By the way, there are no missing episodes in this set. Laura traded Bunny for a stove in season 1 and got her back after Nellies fake peralisis in season 3.
| | | I have enjoyed all the little house DVD's but it seems like they are missing some of the shows I thought this was for the whole season, but "The Race" should have had a show before it. What happened, in Series 2 Laura bought her mom a stove for Christmas in exchange gave Nellie her horse, bunny, now in the Race she has bunny back. Didn't Nellie get in an accident on Bunny and fake paralyzed so then Mr. Olsen gave Laura back the horse or something. What happened to that show?
| | | I used to watch Little House as a child and was glad to finally relive some of those memories on DVD. I don't recall scenes so couldn't say if any have been cut, but I was disappointed "The Race" and "Bunny" were out of order. Watching the race, it felt like I had missed something, or at the very least forgotten something from season two, but then "Bunny" assured me I hadn't missed a thing. The editing should have been better in that regard.
