| Editorial Reviews: | | | | | Talk about smooth! Tony Bennett is the very definition of the word. Snowfall practically renders every other version of the songs included here null and void. Even "White Christmas" sounds better in Tony's hands than it did in Bing's. It could be because Bennett's warmth extends not only from the quality of those pipes but his delivery. How many other grown men do you know who could get away with "My Favorite Things"? But it goes without saying that the collection's finest moments come when the crooner takes the romantic lead, with "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas." The real killer here, however, is "The Christmas Song," which practically becomes an aphrodisiac when Bennett sings it. And it's not all about amore, as there's a truly beautiful version of "Silent Night." Snowfall is one holiday tradition you won't mind keeping. --Steve Gdula | |

| | | I know, I know--it's heresy. Let me say first that I am a big Tony Bennett fan. The arrangements are out on the jazzy end of the scale, and if that is what you are looking for, you'll probably be happy. I like Christmas songs, even those done by jazz greats, done a bit more traditionally than this--hence, my disappointment. In addition, I didn't think Tony's voice sounded at its best on the recordings. To give you an idea of jazz Christmas recordings I like, I would HIGHLY recommend two: "An Oscar Peterson Christmas" (1995) and "Silent Nights, A Christmas Jazz Album" by Chet Baker and Christopher Mason (1986).

| | A great Bennett traditional cd that is jazz and swings. With a great live bonus track. ESSENTIAL
| | 10 STARS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! | |
| | | What makes this album a superb classic? Tony Bennett at the peak of his voice in the mid 60s sounding smooth like a saxophone..... A lush orchestra conducted and arranged by legendary Robert Farnon probably with at least 40 musicians except for the last song which is more recent and done nicely with the trio! Along with that all that you get CHRISTMAS classics and few lesser knows CHRISMAS songs which is refreshing e.g. SNOWFALL OR I LOVE THE WINTER. And unlike the early Christmas albums by Nat, Frank and Bing...this one is in STEREO!!
| | Great Christmas LP from the Man himself | |
| | An outstanding selection of songs from Tony Bennett. Come to think of it, Tony would sound wonderful singing "Mary Had a Little Lamb". He has been one of the best singers for many years. I bought this on cassette several years ago and play it during the holidays. Even my family, who doesn't normally listen to the big-band type of music that Tony puts out, loves it. TB is truly having a good time with this project. The note he hits on the second chorus on the song, "Christmas Land" is evident of Tony's talent. I highly recommend anyone who loves Christmas music to buy this. You won't be disappointed. 5 stars!
